I bought a cd record of 85 different watch, clock making and horology books scans from usa. Mentioned horology books are the best from 19th century and some of them are more than 850 pages and still under copyright protection. I think if I am not wrong , one writer is Saurier and most complicated horology book I have ever seen.
But there are modern books on Horology also. One of the Theory of Horology which is WOSTEP education book.
Is there any algorithmic ,scientific, mathematical or physical change between old and new horology books ?
Should I borrow the new book or may be there is no need for large expense and above books are ok ?
Any idea is welcome,
Thank you,

Re: Theory of Horology Book, Difference from 19th century bo
Hello,
I think, the first question should be: What I will learn from this book?
Arithmetik, Physic etc. - therefore I would use a modern book.
If I want to learn how to fix an old watch/clock, I would prefer a book out of the time of this kind of watch/clock.
