Re: Abbreviations on Johann Baptist Beha 932 Clock Label

Thats IMHO a miss. This Label is also used for interior customers to point the high qualtity.

Karlo
Karlo,

But if the label was intended for German clientele, why would the name of the country of origin be designated in English?

Re: Abbreviations on Johann Baptist Beha 932 Clock Label

Justin,

Thank you very much for your kind words and thoughtful comments. :)

Although there are no retailer label on the clock, it is interesting to note that the Beha label has the county of origin designated as 'Germany'. This would suggest to me it was exported to either the US or UK.

Best ...

Re: Abbreviations on Johann Baptist Beha 932 Clock Label

It appears to me that the '932' is entered on the line corresponding to 'Z-Nr.'

'932' was Beha's officially assigned model number of this model clock in his catalog.

Also, the date of manufacture of the clock is ca. 1880.

Does this help us with understanding?

Re: Abbreviations on Johann Baptist Beha 932 Clock Label

Thank you everyone very much for all your kind responses and information. :)

Because the name of the manufacturer ('Joh. B. Beha') is printed on the label, it appears that this is a manufacturer's label, and not a German government label. Has anyone ever seen a label of this design on a Beha Black ...

Abbreviations on Johann Baptist Beha 932 Clock Label

Hallo Everyone,

I am wondering if someone might help be able to help me with the English language translations for the German abbreviations 'U-Nr.' and "Z-Nr." which are on the label of my Beha 932 cuckoo and monk clock? I have searched all many German-English dictionaries and all over the internet ...

Re: Looking for an Original Set of Keys for Emilian Wehrle C

Walter d.j.

I would very much like to come to visit the Eisenbach and Furtwangen Clock Fairs. Is the Furtwangen fair much larger than the Eisenbach fair? I probably would be only able to attend one of the fairs, so I obviously would like to attend the fair where the best quality clocks are offered ...

Re: Looking for an Original Set of Keys for Emilian Wehrle C

Thank you everyone for your kind responses. I think you are all very correct-it will be difficult to find original Wehrle keys. I think I am just hoping that it will not be impossible :)

If anyone hears of some for sale, please let me know. I will pay more than a fair price for the proper keys ...

Looking for an Original Set of Keys for Emilian Wehrle Clock

Hallo,

I am in the process of restoring a ca. 1880 Emilian Wehrle 8-day, 9-horn flute shelf clock that I recently added to our collection (please see attached photo). The clock is approximately 122 cm tall. Unfortunately, all the original keys for the music, time and strike trains have been lost ...
